Week Eleven

10/30/17-11/3/17

Hard to believe another week has passed! As week eleven closes, I was able to work a few events as I am nearing my hour goal. I met with Shaine on Monday for our one-on-one, and it was very encouraging to hear that I am doing well in my role as an ambassador. I participated in the provost candidate question-and-answer on both Monday and Thursday. This was an interesting event to work because I was able to here from those who have previously worked outside the college and how they see us moving forward in the future. This event impacted me because I was able to hear the possible future plans for our college and the many directions it can go. Other than these two events, I was able to work an extra welcome desk shift. I felt like I was able to make an impact here because I was able to give a new student information about how orientation typically looks. It made me so excited to start spring orientations! I also helped Alex with our “Go for the Gold” event by going to Gold Star to attempt to get in-kind donations.

This week in classes, I began reading the sequel to the graphic novel Maus, Maus II.  These books are very interesting and give you a unique perspective on the Holocaust.  Other than an exam in economics and new chapter about bonds in financial accounting, it was a pretty slow week all around. In business law, I learned that under the regulation of interstate commerce, regulation on any activity is appropriate if it aids interstate commerce. I hope to learn more about this topic next week!
