Week Fourteen

11/20/17-11/24/17

Week Fourteen was relaxed and I was able to spend much needed time with friends and family. On Monday, I was able to participate in the SLPDI Etiquette Dinner. This event was very fun to be a part of as it was definitely a learning experience. We learned that there are two styles of eating (American and European), you are supposed to hold your utensils with your index fingers, and—my favorite—the “b and d rule” (make “OK” symbols with your fingers and the side that looks like a “b” is where the bread plate should be and the “d” is where your drink is). This event impacted me because it taught me some valuable information about how to impress potential employers on a dinner interview. I felt like I was able to make an impact at this event as well because I was able to interact with my peers and professors. We were learning together and it was so great to get to know them on a more personal level! Next week is my leadership team’s event “Go for the Gold” and I cannot wait to see how it turns out!

This week in classes, I continued to work on projects as the semester wraps up. I am looking forward to the break but I hope I can continue to work hard and finish strong!
