Week One

1/8/18-1/12/18

It definitely took me a second to get back into my school routine when classes began this week! I really do enjoy all of my classes so far and can’t wait to see what this semester holds! Over the break, I did continue some of my ambassador duties for the college. This included two tours, helping the Vet-Tech program through the Canine Corps event, and participating in the leadership retreat. The leadership retreat especially impacted me because it was so amazing to see all of these leaders come together to try and improve their skills. It was also really fun and a great opportunity to bond with some of my ambassador teammates.

This week I also participated in the SOL/Ambassador Information session. I felt like I was able to make an impact at this event because I was able to give these aspiring leaders some helpful tips and information about the both the hiring process and the benefits of becoming involved on campus. I also felt impacted at this event because it showed me how many people really care and want to be involved at UCBA. This program is so amazing to be a part of and I love telling people about it!

In my classes this week, we mostly just covered the syllabi. I have some of my same professors from last semester and some friends in my classes so it made the first day much more comfortable. My new favorite class is sociology. We discussed how America is an individualist society (which doesn’t necessarily mean selfish) and how that causes us to view others. My professor is really cool and I can’t wait to learn more in this class! Although it was nice to have a break, I am excited to be back in my routine with my team!
