Week Ten

10/23/17-10/27/17

It’s hard to believe it, but we are now officially two-thirds of the way through the school year.  Week Ten brought along many events and opportunities to bond with my team! One of the more special events I worked this week was a town hall style meeting with President Pinto. It was so insightful to hear about his plans for our college and his passion to make UC an even better university. I was also able to participate in Ludwing’s event Hola-ween, and this was such an amazing event that he organized. There was cookie decorating, pumpkin painting, and masks as well as opportunities for students to learn about how different cultures celebrated Halloween. Learning about the different cultures was very impactful and interesting for me. I was also able to work the second Open House this Saturday. Although it could be very hectic at times, I felt like I was able to make an impact at this event because I was able to talk to prospective students and their families and answer questions they had for me about my personal experience at UCBA. I had a great time at Open House this week and it was so great to have the whole team together!

This week in classes, we were assigned a video project in Business Law. Prerna and I are working on this project together and we are planning to conduct a project about strict liability with a wild animal. We are using our dogs and I already ordered Archie (my pup) his own lion’s mane! He hates it, but hopefully I can bribe him to keep it on for the video. I also learned about the labor market in economics. I found it interesting that when people are paid more, they want to work more because the opportunity cost of their leisure time is less than the pay they receive for work. I guess it makes sense, but I still enjoy my off time!
