During the third week of spring semester, I was able to attend the second WOW Conference meeting facilitated by Molly Scruta. I love planning this and seeing all of the wonderful ideas others have come together. I felt like I made an impact here because I was able to contribute some opinions on how the day should be structured and give other ideas towards potential breakout sessions. I also helped to put Molly into contact with others who might be interested in helping with this inspiring event and also encouraged some of my other fellow ambassadors to join us next time. I also attended a classroom visit with Chris and Sarah on Tuesday. We were able to provide information on resumes to the dental hygiene students. This event impacted me because they had so many great questions about their resumes and they were so eager to get out into the workforce. We will be following up next week to review the “Thank You” portion of our presentation. I also assisted with UC Smiles on Friday. I really enjoyed working this event and seeing how excited students were to see our campus and learn about dental hygiene as well as other important things. This was my first time working this event and I hope I can do it again!

 

This week in classes, we are starting to begin preparation for our first exams. I am drowning in managerial accounting work and I’m not 100% sure that I completely understand the material. Professor Widdig has been amazing about answering all of my questions and not making me feel bad about being confused. Hopefully I feel confident by next Wednesday because that’s when our first exam is!
