Week Thirteen
4/2/18-4/6/18
This week was our last Open House as ambassadors. It was a very bittersweet thing because although it means the end of the year is close, it also means that our time as ambassadors is almost over as well. I felt like I made an impact here because I gave a tour to someone I actually know. He was super shy about asking me questions at Open House, but after he reached out to me and asked me questions and told me how excited Open House made him to start college. I remember having the same excitement after my first college tour and it made me very humbled that he wanted to reach out. I also helped with the Pathways Speakers Series. I was not scheduled to help with this event, but was pulled in last minute and I am so glad that I was. Along with speaking about what motivates us, the speaker also reminded us to stop comparing ourselves to others. Just be the best you that you can be. I feel like I am so guilty of comparing myself to other people and focusing on my faults rather than my strengths. I felt very impacted by her speech and it gave me some more motivation to finish the semester.
In my classes, we are all rushing to finish off the semester. In economics, we continued our discussion of fiscal policy and how it affects all aspects of the economy. It is interesting to see how the government thinks to stimulate the economy. I am struggling to stay motivated with summer so close, but I’m going to push through and make this semester a great one!
